Three Ways House Hotel & The Pudding Club
We've been working with the owners of Three Ways House — aka The Pudding Club — since 2003.
Between us we've produced a website that is both deep in content, easy to use and a piece of cake (or pudding) to maintain. We could see early on how important this privately owned business was to its founders, and soon latched on to their vision for making the site central to their marketing and promotional activities. The interface and navigation are elegant and easy to use, the code efficient and lightweight, and the visitor experience seamless.
Recently, we've developed a scaled down Japanese version to address the hotel's expansion into the Far East tourism market, and regularly advise on web strategies and online marketing. But that's just by the by. The real reason we love working with them is they do a wicked Spotted Dick and custard, making a trip to the Cotswolds one of our highlights of the year!

Untitled Management
Working with some of fashion's leading players is bound to be exciting and interesting — beautiful people, gorgeous imagery and cutting-edge design — it all bodes well for a cracking collaboration.
From the beginning, we steered Untitled toward an easy to use and maintain CMS that would allow them to update their artists’ portfolios with the minimum of fuss, and allow their clients to view content quickly and logically.
Our minimalist interface and smooth interaction design was embraced by the London based agency. We let the artists’ work do the talking while the website acted as a secure and robust support act. That's why you won't see us use Flash in that oh so fashionable but ultimately frustrating way. It just slows down the interaction and prevents people getting on with the real reason for visiting the site: to view the artists’ portfolios.
Previously, the artists weren't ranked at all by the major search engines (that's Flash for ya). Now their artists feature at the top of the rankings. Also clients now no longer have to wait for the courier to show up with a portfolio before making a booking: they just go to the website, whenever and wherever.

McOnie Agency
The girls at the McOnie Agency had a problem. Keeping track of a shed load of press releases, from an increasing number of clients, when there were several employees involved in the process, exposed their system to potential duplication and tracking errors. They needed a secure, centralised space where press releases could be stored, accessed and edited quickly and easily.
We produced a bespoke, content-managed site that makes browsing, editing or downloading a press release as simple as making a cup of tea (something they're already very good at, so we made it our usability benchmark). Just for good measure, we made it look good too.
And, after five years, the site still manages all the boring stuff without complaining, is still able to accommodate change quickly, and still looks as fresh as a daisy.

mconieagency.com (NEW SITE LAUNCHING 02/2008)
Kevin Smith Wedding Photography
We've been working with Kevin for a few years, but thought we were going to lose him, last year, to a company knocking out templates for photographers at $1000 a pop. "Sorry Kevin" we said, "we can't compete with that". A couple of weeks later, Kevin is back on the blower, saying: "My business deserves better than be represented by one of these mediocre templates. Do your thing chaps!"
As an award winning and highly respected photographer Kevin was always going to need a site that set him apart. We were able to design a modern and elegant site that communicated the professionalism and creativity of his work to his clearly defined market. But that's just the beginning. We also built a custom CMS and neat little Photoshop plug-in, allowing his clients to see and choose their photographs from their home, almost as soon as he's downloaded the shoot from his camera.

Specialist Rifle Services
One of the best aspects of running an agency is getting out of the studio and meeting people in their own environment, doing what they do best. And so it was when we met Steve Bowers of Specialist Rifle Services, a formidable craftsman, engineer and countryside enthusiast. What Steve doesn't know about F-Class rifles isn't worth knowing, but what Steve doesn't know about "computer stuff" is. That's when we were called...
We walked Steve through the process slowly and logically, building his site from the ground up after spending long days in the country just getting to know him, his business and the people he works for. And what's he ended up with? A website that blows the competition out of the water and shows the world what a great British company this is.
Bearing in mind how skilful and conscientious Steve is, it was a real compliment when he said: "Fat Free are the Specialist Rifle Services of the web" - cheers Steve!
